2:30pm and 6:30pm
Cotuit Center for the Arts will host two concerts to honor Brian Sandlin, a dedicated musician and loyal friend. Proceeds will go towards forming a scholarship which will be awarded each year to a young person planning to study music and who exemplifies Brian’s strong character.
Don’t miss this gathering of extraordinary talent to honor Brian!
Brian Sandlin was an accomplished bassist, songwriter, and composer. He was an active member of the music community on Cape Cod as well as an alumnus of Berklee College of Music in Boston. He never limited himself to exploring one genre; he played jazz, funk, and rock with a series of different bands.
In the fall of 2016 Brian moved to Muscle Shoals, Alabama to continue his pursuit of a career in music. In his short time down south, Brian made his presence known and had already made connections across the blues scene there. On November 19th, Brian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking back home.
Local and nationally known musicians including Siobhan Magnus, Fernando Huergo, Pulsation, John Harrison III, Pat Ryan, Jon Evans, Charlie Jamieson, Dave Scandurra, Blackout Funk, Molly Parmenter, Schuyler Grant, and Steve Edwards are donating their talents to create a memorable event to honor Brian. Funds raised will be used to help offset the expenses the Sandlin family has taken on from Brian's passing, as well as to create a scholarship to be awarded to a student pursuing a career in music.
