Hello, Printmaking! A Free Workshop

Hello, Printmaking! is a one-day FREE workshop-style fun introduction to printmaking technique and possibilities with master printmaker, Alice Galick. You'll learn about printmaking papers, tools, inks, intaglio and plane printmaking, editions, and mono prints. Alice will provide demos of black and white and color intaglio prints, and you'll make your own plate to experiment with on various papers and learn about layers and overprinting. The Center is launching a printmaking program, and the Hello, Printmaking! workshop kicks it off! Sign up now for a free preview of some great programming coming this year, and check out our new Schoolhouse classroom, where the new program will be housed. 

Please bring a few simple line sketches, a sharp pencil, a folder to take your prints home in, and a brown-bag lunch (there is a refrigerator in the Schoolhouse). All supplies and tools will be provided, and there is a $5 fee to cover supply costs, payable to the instructor on the day of the workshop.

Alice Nicholson Galick , artist and printmaker taught art in schools for 30 years before moving to Cape Cod in 2001. She has participated in and taught many workshops in N.C. , Ct. and Massachusetts. Her work is in galleries and homes around the US and Europe. A juried member of the Boston Printmakers and past president of Printmakers of Cape Cod she participates in Art organizations to promote the art and understanding of printmaking. Working mostly with woodcut and monoprint and combined methods of printmaking her imagery is connected with the environment and experiences from travel.
