Each year there are several signature special events including the annual Poetry and Chili Festival, Entertainment Tonight!, our monthly Wine and Music Wednesday gatherings, the monthly Salon of Shorts, 2nd Wednesday Theater and the annual Art and Souls Masquerade Ball.  


Salon of Shorts

Ongoing: 3rd Wednesday of every month, 7:30pm

Cotuit Center for the Arts offers an open mic series called Salon of Shorts on the third Wednesday of each month in the Art Studio. Award-winning poets, playwrights, and spoken word performers Christine Rathbun Ernst and Gregory Hischak host the series, which encompasses all types of performances: poetry, storytelling, essay reading, music, performance art, improv, and stand-up.

17th Annual Poetry and Chili Fest

March 11

Beat the winter blues with an evening of great chili and cornbread, talented local poets, ice cold Cape Cod Beer, frosty Margaritas, and DJ Keith Lemire spinning hot tunes all night long. The evening kicks off with the Chili and Cornbread Taste-Off starting at 6pm and will include spontaneous performance poetry in between the music. Samples of an eclectic array of chili and cornbread recipes are included in the price of admission. 

Wine & Music Wednesday, March 2017

March 15, 6:00pm

Wine and Music Wednesday is an open house held in our Gallery on the third Wednesday of every month from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, with wine tasting and live music. The first event was held in March of 2010 and it has become a very popular event at the Center. It’s the perfect way to end your day, start your evening or just join friends for a night out looking at terrific art. Tickets are just $10 or $5 for members and are only available at the door. Join us for a splendid selection of wines and live music!

Nancy Witter’s new show “Who’s Better Than Us?” is full of wit, wisdom, comedy and inspiration. A must see Mother’s Day event! Nancy is a nationally renowned and award winning stand-up comedian, an NYU Certified Life Coach, and author of the book “Who’s Better Than Me? A Guide to Living Happily Ever After”. Nancy artfully employs her comedic skills and her life coaching expertise to deliver an important message for all women. She encourages her audience to give themselves credit for all they do; to build each other up, because we are stronger in our friendships and camaraderie than we are alone. Nancy also emphasizes the power of a positive attitude, and the beauty of a confident woman.
