Cotuit Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2016, Cape Cod Collaborative Arts Network (CapeCodCAN!) became a full program under our umbrella. The merger of the two nonprofits is a natural fit, providing opportunities for artists on the Cape living with disabilities.
CapeCodCAN! provides opportunities for inclusion and active participation in the arts for people with disabilities on Cape Cod.
CapeCodCAN! serves more than 500 people each year through various art activities including art lessons, gallery shows, public art creation, talent shows, and theatrical performances.
Through participation in the arts, people with disabilities use their talents and abilities to express themselves and connect with others. Engaging in rewarding art experiences have a host of benefits, including improved social skills and increased self-confidence and self-worth. Not only do participants gain inspiration from this program, but so do our audiences.
We are proud to announce that CapeCodCAN! is a 2016 recipient of the Seaside Le Mans event, which has raised over $5 million for local organizations within the past 15 years. To receive this award we must raise $30,000 in matching funds.
We cannot do this without you.
Please donate to CapeCodCAN! today so we can continue this important work.
